The redevelopment of Lord's Cricket Ground will improve facilities over several phases which will allow the ground to continue to remain operational. The upgrades will see capacity increased by 2,000, while reducing the number of restricted view seats.
Franki UK were contracted by ISG to deliver the complete piling scheme which will support the redevelopment of the Compton & Edrich Stands.
Using the Casagrande B125, Soilmec SR30 and the Martello MP5000 Series piling rigs, Franki installed 277no. 600mm & 750mm diameter rotary bored piles to 28.5m deep.
The MP5000 Series rig was used on the element of the contract that required piles to be installed under the Media Stand within just 12m of headroom.
Due to the tight deadline of the overall project, the piling works were completed whilst the existing stand was being demolished.
